Add your potatoes, carrots, beans, tomato sauce, and crushed tomatoes. Add 8 to 10 cups of water and bring to boil. Reduce heat, simmer for 30 minutes if you like more of a soupy finish or 45 minutes to and hour for thicker stew. Stir occasionally.
