Prepare 250 gms basa fish
Take 2 medium onions finely chopped
Get 1 ” piece of ginger
Take 1 whole small garlic
Make ready 1/2 cup cream
Make ready 1/4 cup tomato puree
Take 1/4 cup tomato sauce
Prepare 2 tsp salt
Take 1 tsp red chilli powder
Take 1 tsp garam masala powder

Steps to make Tomato Fish:
Cut the fish into medium sized pieces as per your preference. Grind the ginger and garlic into a smooth paste adding a bit of water.
Marinate it with 1 tsp salt and lemon juice. Mix well and keep aside for 10-15 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan. Deep fry the fish till cooked. Remove and keep aside.
Heat 4 tbsp of oil in a pan. Add in the onion and saute till they are translucent and about to change color.
Add in the ginger garlic paste. Saute for a minute. Do not brown.
Add in the tomato puree and the tomato sauce.
Add in the salt and chilli powder and stir.
Add in the cream and mix well.
Add the fish and mix until they are well coated. Add in the garam masala.
Cover with a lid and simmer on low heat until you can see oil on the surface.
Tomato fish is ready to serve.
