  1. Get 1 cup For Batter : Besan (Gram flour)
  2. Prepare tsp Ajwain (carom seeds)1/2
  3. Prepare 1 pinch Soda. carb
  4. Take to taste Salt
  5. Take 2 large Boiled and mashed potatoes
  6. Take to taste Salt
  7. Make ready Pinch turmeric powder
  8. Get Red chilie powder
  9. Prepare leaves Chopped Coriander
  10. Take 2 chopped Green chillies
  11. Take 1 tsp grated ginger
  12. Make ready Oil for deep frying

The recipe of Mumbai's first Vada Pav hasn't changed. The inventor's son was spotted carrying on his father's. The vada pav recipe is made of a spicy potato filling deep fried in a gram flour batter. Along with a hot and spicy garlic chutney, batata vada pav is served inside a small "Ladi Pav".

Instructions to make Vada pav:

  2. In a bowl take besan…add salt, soda bi carb and ajwain. Make batter by adding water to make thick flowing consistency
  3. In another bowl take mashed potatoes and add salt, turmeric powder, chillie powder, chopped green​ chillies, chopped coriander leaves
  4. Make lemon size balls and dip in batter and coat properly and deep fry on medium heat till golden brown as shown in pic
  5. Take pav (bun) slit in center and apply garlic chutney and mint chutney on each side and put vada in between and press little.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy with hot tea or coffee
