The ingredients needed to make String beans subzi:
  1. Take 150 gm string beans (chawli)
  2. Prepare 1 small potato
  3. Make ready 3 fenugreek muthiyas (refer to my recipe shared)
  4. Make ready 1 pinch soda bi carb
  5. Prepare 1 tbsp oil
  6. Make ready 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  7. Make ready 1/2 tsp cummin seeds
  8. Make ready 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  9. Get 1 pinch asafoetida (hing)
  10. Get 1/2 tsp green chilli ginger paste
  11. Make ready to taste Salt
  12. Take 1 tsp red chilli powder
  13. Take 1 tsp dhania jeera powder
  14. Take 1 tsp sugar or jaggery
  15. Take 1 tsp lemon juice
  16. Get Chopped freshr coriander leaves to garnish
Instructions to make String beans subzi:
  1. Wash and chopped string beans into small pieces, boiled in microwave safe bowl,with a pinch of soda-bi-carb and salt add 2 tbsp water…for 5 mins on 80 power level.
  2. Peel and wash potato, chopped into small pieces. Add & heat 1 tbsp oil in nonstick pan,add & saute potato pieces till golden brown in colour.Remove & keep aside.
  3. In same pan add & heat 1 tbsp oil,do tempering of mustard, cummin seeds,as they crackle add asafoetida,turmeric powder, green chilli- ginger paste, mix & saute for few sentences. Add boiled string beans pieces,fried potato pieces and chopped fenugreek muthiyas..mix well
  4. Add salt, red chilli powder,dhania jeera powder, sugar or jaggery, lemon juice and salt to taste,mix and cook for 2-3 mins.
  5. Serve hot String beans subzi garnishing with chopped fresh coriander leaves.
